Benjamin collects waste vegetable oil (WVO) from nearby restaurants and produces his own biodiesel, which is used in all of the diesel powered farm equipment. He has been producing biodiesel since 2005. Benjamin created his own homemade system consisting of a water heater and several holding tanks where he initiates a chemical reaction (transesterification) which converts the WVO into biodiesel and a liquid glycerol by-product. The by-product is also very useful. It can be used as either a liquid glycerine soap or can be hardened into bars of glycerine. At this time we are only capable of producing enough biodiesel to fuel our own trucks and tractors. Can't dispose of your waste vegetable oil? Give us a call!
